Regional fresh cuisine, fine wines and competent service - visit our restaurant. Here you will find space in the Burgunder Stube. Or enjoy carefree hours in our lounge bar. In the large beer garden in the green, our outdoor and our BBQ bar are waiting for you in the summer. This location is also ideal for birthdays or champagne receptions.

We attach great importance to the processing of regional products - a must for an authentic regional fresh cuisine. That's why we source most of our ingredients from local producers. In addition, we serve game from our own and regional hunting.

Are you looking for a location for your conference? Then you are exactly right with us. Our conference hotel offers you everything you need for a successful event.
Our technically fully equipped premises can accommodate up to 180 people. Special highlight - each of our conference rooms has its own terrace. Upon request, we will arrange this for you.
At lunchtime you have the opportunity to enjoy fresh regional cuisine in our in-house restaurant. For the small breaks in between, we will gladly provide you with coffee, slices or cakes.
Participants with a longer journey can also book one of the 34 hotel rooms.

About us
New start in Schüttorf
The Hotel Nickisch is already in 4th generation. The history of the Grafschafter family business started with Erich and Margarete Nickisch. They came from Silesia with trolleys and suitcases after leaving their well-known hotel "Schwarzer Adler" behind. In Schüttorf in 1951, the couple leased a small restaurant, which they called "restaurant for recreation".
Beginnings of the hall operation
Ten years later, the family finally acquired a piece of land across the street, on which the present-day restaurant Nickisch with a hall was built. Only four years later family man and company founder Erich Nickisch died. His wife Margarete Nickisch continued to run the business from then until her son Erhard Nickisch 1972 took over the parental business after completing his training as a cook.

4 * hotel for the county
From 1978 he directed the fortunes of the family business together with his wife Gerda. Both pursued a continuous expansion and expansion of the restaurant business. From the small beginnings, the current size of the restaurant and banquet area was born. In 1994, the couple ventured a new project. The first section of a state-of-the-art and comfortable 4 * hotel was built on the site and today has 34 rooms. In 2001, the restaurant and the ballroom were completely renovated and refurbished.
Young generation takes over
In 2012, son Eric Nickisch finally took over the management of the family business. He has been pursuing a constant modernization of the business ever since. In 2016, for example, the bar area was completely rebuilt in collaboration with gastro-interior designer Thomas Hinsche - and the result was the Bar & Lounge room meter. It was followed by the extensive renovation of the lobby and the breakfast room in the hotel as well as the modernization of the hotel rooms. He continues the tradition of the Nickisch family as a passionate host.
